Love Me

Love me; is an accessible performance that is meant to break the stigma surrounding mental illness so that we can talk about what really matters. Just like any illness, mental illness is a serious concern. Anyone battling mental illness need not feel ashamed.

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians aged 16-85 experience mental illness in any year? Also, were you aware that suicide is the leading cause of death in 15-24 year olds? These are not just statistics.

Love Me; is a multi-art form performance that puts forth the idea that anyone, absolutely anyone can be affected by mental illness. So don’t judge a book by its cover.

Combining a variety of media such as interactive sound design and projection, verbatim text, spoken word, slam poetry and music Love Me; unpacks the stigma surrounding mental illness.

The brave performers draw from their own personal experiences to shed some light on this important subject with their own unique perspectives. By opening up about their personal experiences, the artists hope to share their reflections with young people. Raw, funny, and vulnerable, this is a one of a kind show.
